Crocodiles are sacred and reportedly harmless in the city of Bazoul, Burkina Faso to the extent that indigenes including children, troop out to play with them.
According to reports, the Crocodiles are treated like humans and sacred members of the community such that they are buried when they die. In a festival which holds annually, villagers take to lakes and streams to make pleas by praying that the animals grant their wishes.
