The Lagos State Ministry of Education has distanced itself from a school resumption calendar that has been making rounds on social media for sometime now.
Recall that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had announced that Lagos State is set to resume school activities. Following this announcement, a supposed 2020/2021 academic calendar which states that the first term of the session will begin on September 21 and ends on December 18 has been making round on social media.
The supposed academic calendar also stated that January 11, 2021 and May 3 2021 would be the start dates for second and third terms.
However, the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) Unit of the Lagos State Ministry of Education has rejected the academic calendar, stating it didn’t come from the ministry. OEQA spokesman Emmanuel Olaniran in a statement released on Monday August 31, said the calendar did not emanate from his office.
