– Parrots that learnt how to swear during lockdown have been taken away from public viewing at a UK wildlife park
– The action was taken after they were caught hurling obscenities at people who came to the park shortly after the lockdown was lifted
– According to the park’s management, the birds taught each other how to swear and they learnt how to laugh from workers
Five parrots at a park in Lincolnshire have been taken away from the public after they started swearing at visitors.
UK Independent reports that the birds were adopted by the park on Saturday, August 15. According to Steve Nichols, the parrots taught each other obscenities when they were quarantined together.

The park executive added that while the swearing habit makes the staff members laugh, it only went ahead to encourage the birds.

Not only that, the birds have also mastered the art of laughing at their own swearing from the workers of the park. Steve said that in that situation, all you hear the birds doing is making obscenities and laughing together.
“The more they swear the more you usually laugh which then triggers them to swear again.
“But when you get four or five together that have learned the swearing and naturally learnt the laughing, so when one swears, one laughs and before you know it, it just got to be like an old working men’s club scenario where they are all just swearing and laughing,” he said.
After the lockdown, the birds did not waste time in hurling insults at visitors. The park said that though people were entertained by how funny they were, they decided to take them off public viewing because children will soon be visiting.
According to the management, whenever the parrots are let off the hook, they would be deployed around several areas so that they do not all say foul words together at the same time
