Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, a former aide to Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has bid farewell to Nigeria following his ordeal at the hands of the Department of States Services, DSS.
Recall that Salisu, known on Twitter as Dawisu was arrested by the DSS and subsequently sacked after he criticised President Muhammadu Buhari’s handling of Nigeria’s security crisis.
He was taken into custody shortly after his post on Twitter condemning abduction of over 300 schoolgirls.
The ex-aide’s post read; ”Clearly, we as APC government, at all levels, have failed Nigerians in the number 1 duty we were elected to do which is to secure lives & properties. Not a single day goes by without some sort of insecurity in this land. This is a shame! Deal with terrorists decisively or resign.”
He was then arrested by DSS which initially denied holding him but later admitted to having him in their custody.
Now, weeks after his detention and release, the Salisu has traveled out of Nigeria to start life afresh in Qatar.
He took to social media to share photos of himself departing, and captioned it;
”Japa….. Goodbye Naija! Alhamdulilah!”
