In what will come across as a really heartbreaking development, a small plane has crashed into a home in Oregon, USA.

The pane crash killed two people onboard and injured another.

The dramatic crash occurred in Newberg, a city about 25 miles southwest of Portland. Firefighters rushed to the scene in a suburban neighborhood around 7.00pm on Tuesday night.

The was plane a Piper PA-44-180 Seminole, a small twin-engine aircraft that typically carries one to three passengers.

Two occupants were declared dead at the scene, according to Tualatin Valley Fire Rescue. The third was taken by helicopter to a trauma hospital in Portland.

The victims have not yet been identified by authorities.

 

Although rescuers initially didn’t find any occupants in the home or in the immediate vicinity, they later found out the homeowners fled quickly after the crash occurred.

Although fire teams were deployed to the neighborhood, neither the plane nor the home ever caught fire.

The terrifying crash was captured by a bystander on video, which shows the small plane spiraling out of control before plummeting straight to the ground.

‘I didn’t think it was a real plane at all at first,’ said Micah Schauer, the 22-year-old Newberg resident who shot the footage on his cell phone.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board are conducting an investigation into the crash.

 

 

FAA records indicate the plane was owned by the Hillsboro Aero Academy, a flight training school in the suburbs directly west of Portland.

The crash comes only three days after another small Piper aircraft crashed in Utah, killing a North Dakota state senator and his family.

 

Senator Doug Larsen, his wife, and their two children were flying home to North Dakota after visiting family in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The senator’s plane crashed shortly after taking off from Canyonlands Field Airport, near Arches National Park. The cause of the crash is currently unclear.
